Privacy Policy
This policy explains what IGFont records when you use the colour text generator, why it is recorded, and what you can do about it.
1. Who is responsible
IGFont (igfont.top) is an independently operated website. For any privacy question, data request or complaint, write to [email protected]. This address reaches the person responsible for the site, not a call centre.
2. What we collect
We deliberately keep data collection small. The table below lists every category.
| Category | What it is | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Text you type | The word or phrase submitted to the generator, plus the style, font, canvas and background you selected. | It is needed to render the PNG. It is transmitted as part of the image URL. |
| Server logs | IP address, user agent, referring page, requested URL and timestamp, kept by the hosting provider for security and troubleshooting. | To detect abuse, fix errors and keep the service available. |
| Contact form | Name, email address, topic and message you submit voluntarily. | To reply to you. Kept only as long as the conversation needs. |
| Cookies and local storage | A preference flag for the cookie notice and a session cookie for the contact form. | To remember your choice and protect the form against cross-site request forgery. |
| Advertising data | Cookie identifiers and approximate location collected by Google and its partners when ads are served. | To fund the free service. See section 5. |
Fancy text and video conversions never leave your browser. The home page turns letters into Unicode symbols with JavaScript on your own device, and the video generator draws and encodes the clip locally with the Canvas and MediaRecorder APIs. Neither transmits your text to us. Only the colour image generator sends the word to the server, because a picture has to be painted there.
We do not ask for, and do not want, special category data (health, religion, political opinions, biometric data). Please do not send it through the contact form.
3. Generated images and caching
When you generate an image, the server may store the resulting PNG in a cache so that the same combination is not rendered twice. Cached files are named with a one-way MD5 hash of the parameters and are deleted automatically after seven days. The cache is not a gallery: there is no public list, no index and no way to browse it. If you consider your text confidential, do not submit it to any online renderer, including this one.
4. Legal bases (EEA, UK and Switzerland)
- Legitimate interests — serving the requested image, keeping logs for security, and preventing abuse.
- Consent — personalised advertising and any optional analytics, which are only activated through the consent message provided by our advertising partner.
- Contract — replying to a message you sent through the contact form.
5. Advertising and Google AdSense
This site is supported by advertising delivered through Google AdSense. Please read the following carefully, because it describes third-party cookies that are outside our direct control:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or to other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- Google uses the DoubleClick / Google Advertising Products cookie (for example
IDE,__gads,__gpi) to measure and personalise ads. - You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- You can also opt out of third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info or Your Online Choices.
- Google’s own practices are described in the Google Privacy & Terms page.
Where required by law, a consent message (provided through Google’s certified consent management platform) is shown before personalised advertising cookies are set. Declining personalised ads does not remove ads; it makes them non-personalised, which means they are chosen from contextual signals such as the page content instead of your browsing history.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share your contact form messages with advertisers.
6. Analytics
If a measurement ID is configured, the site uses Google Analytics 4 in its default configuration with IP anonymisation. Analytics helps us see which pages fail to load and which styles are popular; it is not used to build advertising profiles by us. You can block it with any content blocker without losing any functionality.
7. Retention
- Rendered image cache: seven days, then deleted automatically.
- Server logs: kept by the hosting provider for a short security window, typically no more than 30 days.
- Contact form messages: kept until the conversation is closed, and no longer than 24 months.
- Cookie preference: stored in your browser until you clear it.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email [email protected]. We answer within 30 days. If you are in the EEA or the UK you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.
California residents have the right to know what categories of personal information are collected, to request deletion, to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information (we do not sell or share it as those terms are defined by the CPRA), and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. Advertising cookies set by Google are controlled through the links in section 5.
9. International transfers
The site is hosted in the European Union or the United States depending on the hosting plan in use. Google processes advertising data globally under its own safeguards, including the EU Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable.
10. Children
The service is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA where local law sets a higher age). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has sent us a message, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Form submissions are protected by a CSRF token and a spam trap. No system is perfect: if you discover a vulnerability, please report it privately to [email protected] before disclosing it publicly.
12. Links to other sites
Pages may link to third-party resources such as font licence texts or advertising preference centres. Those sites have their own policies; this one stops at our domain.
13. Changes to this policy
When the way the site handles data changes, this page is updated and the date at the top is revised. Material changes are also announced on the home page for two weeks.
